How We Rate

Last checked:

There is no score out of ten anywhere on this site, and no league table. A single number cannot be checked by the person reading it, and the ranking it implies would not survive the advertising rules that govern Ontario's market. What follows is the method used instead: where the pages come from, what is counted, and what is left out on purpose.

Why there is no score

A score compresses a licence, a cashier, a set of terms and a complaints route into one digit, and hides which of them the reader actually cares about. The guides here describe each one separately and name the document it came from.

What is on the site

The site is a reference set rather than a shortlist. It is built from operator terms, regulator standards and payment documentation, and the page counts below are what that adds up to as of September 24, 2026.

How a page gets written

  1. The rule comes first. Every claim about verification, payouts, limits or

promotions is traced to a published standard or to an operator's own terms before it is written down.

  1. A number appears only with the source that published it. If no source states

it, the field is left out rather than estimated.

  1. Figures used to show arithmetic are labelled illustrative in the sentence

that carries them, so an example is never mistaken for an operator's posted ceiling.

  1. Where official guidance stops, the page says so. Several guides here are

largely an account of what is not published.

  1. Provincial differences are stated, not averaged. Ontario, Alberta, British

Columbia and the other provinces run separate systems, and a rule from one is not presented as national.

  1. Quotes and standards are cited by their number where one exists, so a reader

can go and read the clause.

  1. Contact details for regulators and help lines are given in full, because

they are the part of a page most likely to be needed in a hurry.

  1. Every page carries the date it was last checked, in the header.
  2. When a rule changes, the page is rewritten rather than annotated, and the

date moves with it.

Where the facts come from

  • AGCO Registrar's Standards for Internet Gaming, and the Registrar's guidance

on them

  • iGaming Ontario player guidance and operator rules
  • AGLC standards, GameSense material and the iGaming Alberta Act
  • OLG and BCLC account terms, including their own dormancy and exclusion

schedules

  • FINTRAC guidance for casinos
  • Canada Revenue Agency income tax folios
  • The Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre and the Competition Bureau
  • Interac and bank documentation for payment rails and cutoffs

What we don't do

  • No numeric scores, star ratings or league tables.
  • No bonus figures for Ontario, where the public advertising of inducements is

barred.

  • No regulator, testing-house or certification badges the site is not entitled

to display.

  • No number, date or licence claim without the source that published it.
  • No invented review counts, user votes or team biographies.

When a page changes

A page is revisited when the rule behind it moves — a new standard, an amended set of account terms, a market that opens or closes. The date in the page header is the date of that check, not a publication date left to age.

Checked by the CasinoOnline 365 editorial team

Every brand on this site is matched against the regulator that actually licenses it — AGCO with iGaming Ontario in Ontario, AGLC in Alberta, the provincial lottery corporation elsewhere — and we read the payout, bonus and verification terms in full before the page goes up. There is no Canada-wide casino licence, so we name the province each time.

Some outgoing links earn us a commission. It never buys a place in a table or a better score: the order comes from the checks set out in how we rate. Spotted something out of date? Tell the editors.
